Play-Doh Easter Packaging

Developed a seasonal structural packaging strategy for Play-Doh Easter exclusives, aiming to maximize shelf impact and differentiation while adhering to strict low-cost manufacturing targets. The objective was to create a dual appeal structure that captures the child's imagination while signaling value to the parent.

For the 2pk stampers leveraged iconic holiday silhouettes—such as bunnies, baskets, and eggs to embed the Easter theme directly into the structural form, reducing reliance on graphics alone.

Looked at adding paper rattan to corners to echo back to basket feel. Also looked at doing a teeter totter style package to create some play while still in package.

For the 10-pack SKU, the structure was reimagined as a functional carrying basket. A perforated top was engineered to allow for easy opening and reuse, transforming the packaging into a durable vessel for the child to use during an Easter egg hunt.

Turned packaging into play by designing the 10-pack structure with secondary utility, extending the brand experience beyond the initial unboxing.

Balanced strict cost-of-goods (COGS) targets with premium shelf presence by using smart structural engineering rather than expensive materials.
